Biography
Jaime Escribens is a tax partner at Alterra and an expert in structuring a broad array of tax-sensitive transactions including domestic and international acquisitions and dispositions, spin-offs, financings and restructurings, partnership and real estate transactions, equity-based compensation arrangements, international tax issues and tax-related litigation. With a strong focus in the private equity field, Jaime has advised on several private equity transactions and on the formation of diverse private equity funds.
Jaime also has extensive experience advising on tax matters for corporate transactions involving arrangers, lenders and issuers as well as mining, financial, energy and infrastructure companies as well as representing clients on complex tax-related litigation. Prior to joining Alterra, Jaime served for several years as senior partner at one of the most important tax firms in Peru and as a clerk and senior attorney in the Peruvian Tax Administrative Court. Jaime is a graduate from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a tax law professor at Universidad del Pacifico and Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.
