Biography
Ricardo Postigo is a partner at Alterra and an expert in investment management transactions with a particular focus on fund formation, private equity, capital markets and complex financial-related regulatory matters. With over 14 years of experience in the industry, Ricardo has represented some of the most sophisticated global sponsors in the private equity industry such as The Carlyle Group, The Blackstone Group, Apollo Global Management, Apax Partners, AlpInvest Partners, Advent International, Nordic Capital, HarbourVest Partners among others, in the fund formation and fundraising process for several private equity funds pursuing different investment strategies, including the complex regulatory approval process with the Peruvian regulatory authorities.
Ricardo has been involved in the most notable transactions of the private funds industry in Peru and has helped international sponsors to land in Peru with specific Peru-focused fund projects. Recently, he was responsible in Peru to assist The Carlyle Group in structuring and launching the Carlyle Peru Fund in association with Peruvian conglomerate Credicorp. Prior to that he led the fund formation process of the infrastructure-focused private equity fund Brookfield Peru Infrastructure Fund I, a fund sponsored by Brookfield in association with AC Capitales.
In addition, Ricardo has represented almost every domestic sponsor and led the fund formation and fundraising processes for some of their private funds in Peru, including Brookfield, AC Capitales, Macrocapitales, Compass Group and Faro Capital, among others, and regularly represents Peruvian limited partners in their negotiations with domestic and global sponsors in order to invest in limited partnership interests of private funds focused on several investment strategies. Ricardo is a graduate from Columbia Law School and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
